SECURITY ISSUES
How safe is my account information?
Please refer to our "Security Statement" for the complete details of our security. Links to our Security Statement can be found on the Bank's Website Home Page.
How does First Private Bank & Trust ensure the safety of my account information?
FPB&T uses the latest security software and hardware to ensure your account information remains safe. With proven encryption, firewalls, and trusted operating systems incorporated into our overall banking architecture, we have made it as secure as possible for authentic transactions to take place over the Internet. Please refer to our "Security Statement" section for the details of our security.
ENHANCED SECURITY
To further protect the privacy and security of your personal information, we have an additional layer of security. This security feature uses an image called a PassMark, and a phrase which helps you identify that you are at our Web site, and not a fraudulent look-alike site. Additionally, this feature provides you added safety by helping us to identify you and prevent unauthorized access to your accounts.
Once you have enrolled in our additional security feature your PassMark and phrase will only be known to you. Whenever you login, we will show you this PassMark and phrase. If you login and do not see your PassMark and phrase, do not enter your password, as you are likely being re-directed to an imposter Web site.
This feature also helps us to identify you by checking the computers that you are using to access our Web site. With this feature you have the option to register the computers that you use to access our Web site, and our web site will recognize those you have registered preventing possible fraudsters from logging into your account even if they acquire or guess your Access ID and Password. Should you need to login from a different (un-registered) computer we will take additional steps to verify your identity, through a series a Challenge Questions you set-up at the time of enrollment.
Above all, the PassMark/Phrase feature significantly increases the security of your Access ID and Password authentication without much change to your login experience.
What should I do to keep my account information safe?
- Your Login ID and Password are confidential and you should exercise care when using them. Do not make your password something easily determined by an unauthorized individual.
- Never lend your Login ID or Password to anyone and never write them on your PC or any computer materials.
- Do not register public computers in the PassMark/Phrase security feature; only register computers that are private and frequently used to access your accounts.
- Beware of fraudulent requests for your password by someone posing as a Bank employee. A Bank employee would never ask for this information!
- Never use a "Save Password" feature if offered by your browser. This would allow anyone who opens your browser access to your account information without needing a password.
- Use a browser with 128-bit encryption, which provides the highest level of encryption. (Encryption is a method of scrambling information transmitted between you and the Bank.)
Can the Bank answer questions about my Internet Service connection or my computer?
Your best source of information regarding any issues you have with your Internet connection is your Internet Service Provider. Their customer service personnel are trained to answer all your Internet connection questions. The same holds true for any questions about your computer. Contact the hardware manufacturer or Software Company for best results.
Can anyone else see my account information?
Your online account information is available only to those with an authorized Login ID and Password. This information is not public.
